Just going through my ebills and wondering why it was so high. Reason is I signed up for a bundle deal - TV M,phone and L broadband for £27 (i think). Its now over £40 as I decided to up the TV to large. The terms and conditions got me, any change of your package and you lose the discount! So i'm paying the extra tenner for Large TV and another 7.95 for my phone package which was free.

Just quietly kicking myself and wondering if there's anything I can do. Probably can't cancel the phone part as it'll be 12 month contract?

Oh and my speeds are rubbish :p (only when i'm being shaped)

Exactly! It must happen all the time - people sign up to a minimal package and then see all the channels they don't get so upgrade. End up getting stiched up - the annoying thing is I don't even use the phone service and only got it as I was told its cheaper if its bundled in with everything else.

tbh, i would have thought it would be common sense. Its a package deal, so if you change what services you get, its no longer part of the package is it. You could always see if they do a package that includes the large tv option that you selected and hopefully it will work out cheaper.

Yes I take your point, common sense never was my strong point! I might be moving soon so i'll probably leave it till then. I still think its worth making people aware that if you upgrade anything on the package you'll end up paying more in other areas too (ie. read the terms and conditions first).

yes they tried to do something like this too me.

I signed up on their website for xl BB, basic phone and tv as I will be getting sky HD at some point so didn't see the point of getting all the other stuff from them.

So I had my first bill which was way too high as I was expecting to pay £34 a month for the package so expected it to be a little more for the first part month and after speaking to 8 people I finally got it resolved.

It seems that you can not mix and match deals when signing up but this is not explained clearly enough on the website so I asked if this is the case why does it let me pick the multiple deals when signing up. (seems like VM need to have a look at their signing up process) So after I explained the situation to the guy on the end of the phone and being put on hold several times I am actually getting a better deal. I get a refund for the initial bill and then pay only £28 a month for my package instead of £34. So I am quite happy with VM at the moment. The service does seem a little flakier compared to Bulldog but I would say I am consitantly getting around 1.6MB during most times of the day.

Also as a side note I have noticed I am getting Setanta sports for free is that normal for VM customers on the basic tv package or is it a Xmas thing.

Well i'm happier now. Called up and the guy cancelled my phone package and upgraded my TV to XL for free! Now paying £36.50 per month as opposed to £45ish!
