As title we noticed we suddenly have loads more channels we dont want and just now had an email asking us to sign our new contract digitally with loads of extra stuff wacked on that we didnt ask for! What is this? Just a promotion? Can i ignore it?

I do plan on calling them because tbh i think we pay to much anyway and i think its wrong to just change the deal, update the tv services to suit and send an eamil asking to sign for something i dont even want. It lists some bullpoo discounts etc to make it seem like a good deal but still dont want it :)

I imagine they do it and unlock the channels to try and entice people into upgrading to the "better" package?

I doubt that any of this is legitimate, on both sides, the opening story is partial at best.
You did call them before OcUK? "I do plan on calling". Go call then.

Have you ever tried to contact Virgin to find out something? He will be on the phone for 6 to 8 weeks. :D

5 to 30 mins in the queue in my experience.

Usually sorted with the first person I talk to or at least the person I'm redirected to.

Virgin do have a thing of changing your arrangement after the fixed contract and while they send you notice the notice essentially says if you don't do anything then they will take the lack of response as acceptance of the change.

Oh my, sorry didnt mean to upset you mate, dont know what your getting at here? :S

It was late when i found this out, sorting baba out for bed etc and i believe the phone line closed at 8pm so i thought i would pop on here to see if anyone has had a similar experiance and could out my mind at rest for the evening, im a worrier..

Any way i rang them this morning and they believe i rang them last week and made changes to my account adding this stuff on, which i obviously didnt so this is really dodgy imo. She then asked if maybe they called me but they didnt. So somewhere along the line they just decided to flick the switch.

Anyway, got the old package back on now but then she tried to suggest i would pay more this month for this big package we didnt want, and then after that our bills would be back to normal.. Wtf! Nope!

Eventually she understood that i didnt want to pay for something we dont want and didnt ask for.

Should be sorted now, will keep an eye on my emails to be sure they dont do it again. Its bloody wrong in my eyes.

Looked at switching to sky just now but they dont offer fibre in my area yet according to the site. Want to spchange really anyway because the tivo box is terrible

It's a shame really, a mate has VM fibre and at 200Mb it's great. The Tivo box is absolutely infuriating to use when compared to Sky's offering.

It really is that bad, rang them once and said it takes 20+seconds from being on tv to getting to the tv guide home screen, and the bloke apsaid thats in the normal range. Doesnt sound like much but can be slow as poo!
