Virgin media deals

The V+ box is supposed to be very good anyway, as you can record 3 channels as long as you're watching one. I found, when I had XL TV at a previous home, that the on demand stuff was fantastic too - especially with losing Sky One and missing series 4 of Nip/Tuck. Watched 3 episodes a night on On Demand, lol.

With the amount of complaints I've seen online regarding Virgin Media compared to Sky (who have a larger customer base) or any other provider there is no way ever I'd get cable. The other problem with going to cable is that if you decide you want to go back to ADSL then you have to pay BT £125 to get your line reconnected. Then you have lesser TV and even with the television there have been numerous threads where people have had very long outages. No thanks.

I was with Blueyonder for 7 years, without a single problem. As soon as it was taken over ive noticed major slow down to the point i just cant be botherd surfing as its soooo slow, i just turn the pc off. Dont Do It is all i can say stay well clear of VM

Mmm still very confused by it all. Loads of posts but still non the wiser lol. Anyother advice??

Try and find how the service has been in your area. Certainly give both Sky and Virgin a call and see how you feel about both. I can recommend VM based on my experience, the same as others say not to touch them at all.

The customer services is woefull but in the last five years I've only lost Broadband once for 6 hours. Once the TV was loosing some channels , I eventually got through to CS, 2 days later engineer turned up & replaced the TV box.

I'm on the 4 for £40 deal

Phone + free weekends
Large TV (only want it for Eurosport + Living)
2M broadband
Mobile phone (300 mins + 300 texts , any network)

Pretty good value package (but don't tell VM I said that ;))

you know what, i used to have Sky tv and NTL broadband, no problems whatsoever for probably 5 years or so, then VM take over my broadband and offer me a package which saves me roughly £60/month but taking their telly, in the 10 months or so i've had it, i've lost the internet god knows how many times, one time for a whole day, the V+ box is pretty pants and very slow, and though it's HD ready, there's no real HD service there, only BBC HD which isn't really a proper HD channel yet (previews). The only thing i haven't had a problem with is the phone service.

If you are prepared to put up with the above though, and the foreign customer services who do not understand English whatsoever, the on demand service on their tv service is quite good for when there's nothing to watch. when the broadband isn't broke, i get usual 20mb speeds, even when i'm supposed to be being capped, though i'm not a big downloader anyway, and the phone service is great :D
