Can you just request the hub 5? I’m currently on the gig but have hub4, is there much difference if any?

Have been on the M600 speed for some years with zero issues, triggered the Volt upgrade to 1Gb a few days ago, all has gone smoothly, txt from Yodel yesterday to say a package was on route (suspected VM) as i only had the Hub3, the new Hub5 turned up today in the timeframe Yodel said it would.

Activated Hub5 tonight once work was finished with, seems to have kept the same IP Address i have had for some years through to my home router which is good, straight into modem mode and off it went, zero issues and the new Volt speed boost is registered and showing in the modem and speed tests are all good too :)

That's what the Hub 5 shows. I'm presuming it's just what is shown in the current software version. Its in Docsis 3.1 mode and I'm hitting the limits of the home network, if I turn QoS off. The Hub 4 showed the Docsis 3.1 down and upstream channel in the relevant section.

Has Wifi 6 and a 2.5g port, otherwise nothing different. It is slightly quicker, for me, when using 2.5gig network port.
Ahh probably not going to make any real difference for now anyway. Still might see if they will send me one out, although I doubt they will with me being on hub 4.

Yep, fill in this form: https://www.virginmedia.com/offers/vsfd05w5446uydfgfhfvbhxc20b5u78cfbxxxashub5 Wait around a week and then it should be confirmed. Not sure if there's much difference other than the Wifi 6 and 2.5g port. It does have a Broadcom SoC, compared to the Intel Puma 7 in the Hub 4. Not sure if there was still an issue with the Puma 7, compared to the 6 in the Hub 3.

BQM is pretty much the same. Slight increase in minimum latency:

Signed up last week for the Volt Ultimate and waiting for the install next week.

Last time I had VM SH3 I ran it in modem mode with a 3rd party router, is the SH5 better or should I also run it in modem mode?

Its with the 1130mbps Internet package.

Thank you. I’ve just ordered it. I’ve never had any issues with hub 4 to be honest but I mean who doesn’t want the latest?

Great for me so far, however it lacks any of the advanced customisation of 3rd party routers. Its a very basic interface.

Hub5 should be arriving 31st October. Previous attempts to get one (via the link I posted a few weeks ago) didn't work. Looks like they're finally handing them out.

Ordered a hub 5 a few weeks ago to replace a super hub 2, and had it a few days. BQM is looking slightly better on max ping, average and min are the same.

Now, if only I could get a decent deal to go with it!

Writing has been on the wall for a while, but after the recent residential speed uplifts on the lower tier plans, it looks like business Gig1 users are seeing an upload boost to 100mbit which would bring it in line with the gov funding criteria. Let’s hope this carry’s over to the residential plans soon.
