How long after you cancelled did they phone you?

Im worried if I do this they won't phone back. lol.

I guess if they didn't I could phone them and beg to stay:D
My call came a day or 2 after I put in my cancellation request. But neither when I cancelled or tried to retain did they make an offer cause they cannot offer symmetric gigabit nor can I leave vodafone for another year.

Got my price increase today 100mb Mixit Tv and phone (not used ) present cost £41.00 going up to £50.00. Phoned in and cancalled, will go to G5 broadband with 3 for £20.00 a month, freeview tv and dump the phone, have been with Virgin for 18 years and to be fair it's always been a reliable service, but the price increses are really taking the p***.
I think they will take a loss of customers now

Anyone have experience of raising subject access requests with virgin? Tried to sort a deal with them for the in laws - was lied to on multiple calls and even by someone who promises to review recordings and call back.
Welcome to Virgin Media! My wife and I have been married almost 10 years now, and VM still insist on the account holder's name being my wife's maiden name. Every time we bring it up they say we 'should have sent a marriage certificate in, then'... To which we confirm that we have. Three times! Eventually I made a complaint and asked where our personal data had vanished to, if they've had three copies and still can't locate them. How is our PII being handled for this to be the case? Some silence, a bit of chair squirming, and 'We'll look into it and call you back'.

NARRATOR: They didn't call him back.

So now, on the run-up to our 10 year anniversary, we still have to answer 'What's the account holder's name?' with 'Smith... No, Jones. Well, you think it's Jones - don't ask'.
 
I finally cancelled my virgin contract, been overcharged for years but stayed as no real competition round my area.

But now we have city fibre fttp down our road and an offer of £30 a month for 900mb was too good to turn down.

They have of course been phoning me repeatedly with better and better deals ever since. Too late.

Netomina are installing FTTP this year at my address. Can't wait for the day. My contract with Virgin ends on 7 July, just hope Netomina have the fibre installed by then!
 
I really hope I get a price increase email so I wriggle out of my contract before it ends in July. Openreach fttp is my area now so I'm going to switch.
Same! Had an existing 1Gig contract that runs until July 2023 when we moved into this house, and they let me keep the original contract date, so I'm just counting down the days until I can switch over.

FTTP available here, and we're in the "Phase 2" of City Fibre too.
 
Virgin were carrying out work in my area yesterday. I've gone from not much packet loss, fairly minor through the day to a little rubbish since. I'll be online gaming later and hoping it won't be causing much issue. Anyone manage to resolve packet loss with them?

Sounds like what I get most of the time with VM, this does not sound encouraging. Having had 5 BB down times within 2 months a while back that set a new record for VM service in my area, being fair though they fixed the BB outtages all 5 times within half a day if not next day but its still feeling poor at best.

I will still call a month or so ahead when my contacts up to cancel the contract, will see if Sky TV and Fibre 1gig up/down in my area might be better or not.

I need to call Virgin Media to ask about my bill which is something I will do over this coming weekend, but just thought I'd check with you guys first.

I was paying £66 a month for TV (with kids pack), phone and 500Mb Internet but upped to Gig1 via Volt and I was on an 18 month contract for that. Price never changed from £66 for the whole duration, but it ended in January when the price went up to about £111. I called them up a couple of weeks ago to re-contract and basically got the same deal again for £75 a month. I understand everything has gone up so I considered myself fairly lucky to get the same arrangement for an extra £9 a month.

However yesterday I got an email telling me that my package would go up by £15 a month as of April. Does anyone know if this is going to apply to my bill despite the fact I just recontracted or if, like my previous package, it remains the same fixed rate for the contract duration?

TLDR, I re-contracted package for 18 months at £75 a month 2 weeks ago, just received an email about a £15 a month price rise - will this apply to me despite the new contract or not? Since my previous contract remained the same amount for the whole 18 months.

I know I need to call them to get confirmation but I'm really not in the mood to deal with them today :)

I need to call Virgin Media to ask about my bill which is something I will do over this coming weekend, but just thought I'd check with you guys first.

I was paying £66 a month for TV (with kids pack), phone and 500Mb Internet but upped to Gig1 via Volt and I was on an 18 month contract for that. Price never changed from £66 for the whole duration, but it ended in January when the price went up to about £111. Yeah it will be going up to £90. This seems to be a first for VM, this year you can end your contract to negotiate. Next year it's baked into the contract.
 
Tried that wont answer put on hold for one hour last night 7 till 8, phone tonight was told cancellation close a 5 so last night was a p*ss take.

You can try their whats app group.
OR... jump onto the VM forums, sometimes there is someone decent on there responding.

I will never go back to VM. I would rather use 28.8k dialup.
