After moving our TV setup to the other side of the room our box was unplugged for a long time and so seems to have reset, or just for some reason reverted to having to use a SCART lead. Now, I've set the box again to HDMI output and its on 1080wide setting but still, using the HDMI channel on our TV it sits on "no signal" this is exactly how I did this before so I'm confused, if the SCART lead isn't plugged in I get nothing even though its set to HDMI in the settings.

So I'm stuck, it's currently receiving signal via SCART, picture looks crappy and to make things worse I'm using a slimline TV bracket so a SCART doesnt really fit behind our TV up against the wall, and my right angled HDMI connector is just sitting there doing nout, any ideas? (buying a right angled SCART or butchering this cable isnt an option, I want it fixed :()

Is your HDMI cable working?
I once had VM come out and it was the HDMI cable that needed replaced. If you could try the HDMI cable in something else to confirm its working?

When you changed it to HDMI are you sure you confirmed the change? Iirc it asks you if you want to keep the setting or something, does it not? Also once set to HDMI, try removing the SCART and rebooting the box. It might be that it defaults to SCART if it detects a SCART connected, so that people setting it up for the first time get a picture on their screen. Iirc the V+ box needs to be set up via SCART in the first instance.

This is all from hazy memory, but there might be something useful within there.

Robbie G's right, have you have followed the on screen instructions (pressing 'Text' to confirm on my SA V+ box), if not it'll switch back to scart assuming that you've set it to a mode you can't view. Also google will tell you the button combo to force HDMI on boot for the SA box. Failing that call tech support (it's free 150) as if it's genuinely faulty the box will be swapped without charge.

Im guessing you have a SA V+ box.

First thing to check is, did you make sure you set the box to HDMI and not HD Component?

Also if the box is set to scart then you should still get audio and video through the HDMI cable but if it set to HD Component it will shut off the HDMI output.

If you cant get any menus anymore then press home, 8, 4, down arrow, right, ok and ok.

This should take it off HD Component if it is already set to that setting.

If this is not the case then I am lost but the tech you have will be able to find out.

Hey you can try holding stop and play/pause buttons on the front panel of the SA box, reboot it and hold them in until it says OUTPUT, and select HDMI press ok then let the box boot up.
