On 10MB Virgin media BB and I'm just getting into streamed music to my HiFi over my wireless network.

Problem is, I've still to set that Network up!

At the moment I'd just be using it for streaming music to my squeezebox, but eventually I'll add extra stuff like a laptop, PS3 or whatever.
Also, I'm on a budget! So much cheapness would be good.

So, a couple of questions thanks.

1. Whats a good wireless cable router to work with Virgin Media?

2. I want a low power "always on" server for my music, so I'm looking at a NAS device rather than a 2nd PC in a cupboard or whatever. I figure this will use less power than a PC, is this right?
(I've enought PC bits to build a PC but its a dual-core cpu which will probably need a 450w PSU so thats out)

Any recommendations on a suitable NAS solution?
I'm looking at one LEAST 500GB which can run the Slimserver software and has USB ports for expanding the storage once I fill the 500GB up.

I'm new to the networking side of this so any help much appreciated!

Thanks.

I just bought a Linksys NAS 200 which takes 2 SATA drives which I indent on using with my Freecom MusicPal internet radio. I had one of these Linksys NAS before in my old house and it worked simply and well. It has USB ports on it and the advantage of chosing your own drive sizes.

As for a router, I imagine most people will suggest a Linksys WRT54G series with a Tomato firmware. Havent used it myself but I do have a WRT54GL which I plan of flashing at some point
