I have 3 computers on my network at home.

HTPC = directly plugged into the Superhub

Wifes laptop = Wireless

My desktop = powerline

Up until yesterday i was getting about 45mbs speeds on my desktop which was liveable.

turned my pc on this morning and im now getting 4.15mbs on mine, 18mbs on the laptop and 25mbs on the htpc.

Spent 2.5 hours on the phone to virgin turning SH into modem mode trying different things to no avail.

got an engineer booked out for monday but does any 1 have any idea y its suppenly gone so slow?

What service do you pay for from Virgin Media?

The difference of speeds for each device show you're limited by you local networking choices. I.e. the power lines are only functioning at 4.15mb/s, wireless (g?) 18mb/s & the actual throughput from Virgin being 25mb/s.

i tried the wifes laptop on the powerline downstairs as well and it was getting 18mbs.

yesterday lunchtime and the week prior i was getting 40mbs on my desktop throgh powerline still though

Forget powerline & wireless. Connect the desktop to the SH using a cable and run a speedtest.

right just restarted the SH again reset all setting and ran speedtest on the HTPC its now getting 63mbs.

has my powerline kit died then?

speeds on thrusday were at least 30mbs was getting 3.0mb/s downloads through steam?

sorted it.

getting 45mbs through powerline now.

Problem was

I have 3 powerline adapters 2 big black ones and 1 new tp link all 200mbs.

I used to have bt so bt hub was in hall way with black pluged in and black to my pc,

white was behind the tv with switch to tv and xbox.

when virgin installed i left the white 1 there and just used that to teh hub.

swapped that white 1 for the other black 1 and now its going full speed.

dnt know why thats only just happened though
