Hi all,

I currently have a 'v+ box' in the lounge but want to add a 2nd box in the room where my pc is. My pc screen has 2 dvi ports only.
The normal v box (which VM supply for 2nd rooms, not v+) has only 2 scarts and a SPDIF connector. See here for rear diagram.

What I'd like to know is there a way to connect this box to my pc and get audio? I can always buy a 2nd hand amp if necessary but can I use the SPDIF on the v-box to connect to the amps optical port??

I have a HD4850 and onboard sound.

Any advice much appreciated!

The SCART output will carry stereo sound, just get one of those scart to 3 RCA adapters (make sure it supports output) and a TV capture card with a s-video or composite input. Use a 2 RCA to 3.5mm jack cable connected to your line input jack on the PC for sound.

oh, hadnt thought of a scart to 3 rca, that coule be ideal - many thanks!
Just need to find a cheapo tv capture card now!

Actually, my HD4850 has an s-video input, can I use this?

Having done a little more research I came across a 'Slingbox Solo'. I've heard of these before but didnt really know what they were used for.

I think this could be the ideal solution if they are as good as they seem.. I can avoid getting a 2nd V box, amp & tv card if this works. Anyone have any experience of these? Quality etc..
