Im not sure of how widespread this is, just curious as I have seen a few mention it.

Im on a 10mb connection with VM, and over the last month I have been having real problem keeping in games, or even geting into a game for any length of time before being booted out.

As I understand it, this is a symptom of VM's new p2p mnitoring picking up how some online games work and cutting them off.

THe strange thing..my P2P downlods are funning full pelt!

virgin media here on the 10mb , not had any lag problems for a while now.

played cod black ops last weekend and the weekend before that without any lag!

ive had lag in the past mainly at weekends but lately it has improved

Im not getting lag...im not even getting the chance to play for anymore than 5 minutes, then the game drops out...but im not disconnected from Live...my Pc's mobile etc are all fine on the connection.

sorry did not read your post properly , you have an xbox?

i get the odd lost host when playing cod on my ps3 but thats proberly more to with the game than my connection

how is your xbox connected to your internet , do you use the wireless method?

this might not have any affect but i find i get a very good connection with my ps3 when i use homeplugs to enable a wired connection?

Lan cable...checked all the settings on my Router, its fully open and ported.

Also...thing is if I play...sometimes...the connection will be lost completely, soinged out/ dosconnected from Live, my Pc will die and anything else wireless on it..then the VM box starts to flash, like its been reset...then eventually will make the connection again.

strange i had a very simular problem last year where i would keep losing internet , checked the vm box and the light was flashing normally a reset would solve it but i it happened a lot , it seemed to fix itself as the problem has gone away.

i would ring them if your vm box keeps flashing

This happens whenever a VM user is host and it happens to everyone in the lobby anytime someone leaves or joins the game(and people leave and join a hell of a lot when we play), eventually the host gets kicked resulting in black screen and a wonderful loss for us all.

I was really trying to avoid calling them TBH lol

I know that the Superhub has a fairly poor wireless connection compared to my old Buffalo router, which is a damn shame. I'm eventually going to have to move the router downstairs to wire everything in.

Get 30mb right at source.

Just happening again..so it doesnt matter what time..jsut near the end of a long game in BC2..and it quits....good points..gone.

I'm currently following this thread: http://community.virginmedia.com/t5...interrupted-Black-ops-on-xbox-360/td-p/429663

A growing number of virgin users are having xbox live problems as well as black ops. Live is slow. It took me 4 minutes to download the gears 3 beta (400-500mb). I get perfect 30 down 3 up on speed tests but live is a different matter. The gears 3 beta has been playing pretty flawlessly which has been a nice change though.

They're looking into it and did a trial with 5 volunteers recently but apparently it didnt help according to the forum support guy Mark_Wilkin:

Firstly sorry that it's taken a few days to get back to you on this, the R26 Super Hub firmware trial has been taking up a lot of our time in the last few days. Thank you to our five testers for the detailed feedback from them and from everyone else in this thread.

To try and isolate the cause of the issues that you're seeing we switched off traffic management entirely for our five testers last weekend. From their observations we can see that despite a small improvement, they're still seeing the problems while hosting games. In addition we can see other reports of users seeing issues outside the times we manage P2P Filesharing and Newsgroup traffic. So from that we can see that there is something else going on here apart from traffic management.

What we're going to do now is widen our investigation and see what else could be causing this. One other thing we've seen is that on other forums, including the main Call of Duty forums, there is a lot of noise currently about Xbox Live problems on many different networks and ISPs so we'll be taking at look at that as well.

We still need your feedback about this issue as the more reports we get give us more to work from, so we are still actively monitoring this thread on a day to day basis.

I'll post another update on this next week when I have more news.

The news is spreading fast about VM so hopefully they sort it soon before people realise they only want you to browse facebook at up to 100 mb/s!

Hmmm still doesnt seem to be a HUGE deal being made out of it..thought their would be more uproar about it..still its not jsut me then.

But is anyone else's live running really slow anyway? From accepting game invites to actually finding games? Really really bad here :(

Yeah live is slower which anotther gripe of people on that thread I posted. Took me 4 minutes to download a 500mb demo on a 30 mb connection. Message sending took ages yesterday and in bulletstorm it took an age to load the scores for echo modes.
