Virgin Mobile Problems

 Ok i have been on a stupidly over priced virgin mobile contract since last august now and I’ve had enough. Not only is the phone the crapphonewarehouse gave me a pile of cack (V3 Razr that likes to crash all the time and switch off) but the network connection is awful! i may have a full signal but my telephone calls resemble a poorly encoded MP3. it even pops and stutters like a bad MP3. Out of 5 words said to me over the phone i can only hear 1-2 of them.

Now this happened to me for about a month in Jan. I took the handset back the crapphonewarehouse and they sent it in for repair (Both virgin and the CPWH insisted that it was the mobile phone as the connection was fine) they gave me a temp phone which had the same problems. I called virgin and after speaking to some numpty for about an hour they finally came up with "Oh I’m terribly sorry Mr. Smith but it appears that several of the main transmitters in your area are experiencing technical problems...." My arse they were, you would think that if everyone on virgin was having this problem in my area that at least some people would have complained. These guys didn’t have a flipping clue!

Any way I told them that I was in no way pleased and that I wanted my line rental for that month credited (A fair request seeing as my personal life and professional life were severely impaired by not having a working phone!) They said they couldn’t authorize this as I had made 189 phone calls that month! My reply to this was “Of course I have made phone calls, how else am I supposed to know that I have a recurring problem if I don’t test it? They then said that they would get a member of the Finance dept to contact me ASAP and sort something out.

The next day my line connection was fine. The finance dept never got back to me but because they fixed it so quickly I let them off.

Today I get a phone call off my mum, guess what! Yup that’s right it’s not working again. Same popping and skipping problem as before!

Ok well that’s the story, have Virgin broken their contract to me? Is there a way I can break my contract in such a way that they will end it from their end? I need to get out of this contract and go with a mobile company that looks after their customers as Virgin clearly don’t.

Any advice is welcome (Sorry for the long winded post)

Cheers.

i have noticed that shorter 1st posts seem to generate more replies here in the mobby forum - strange..........

naaaah cant be bothered any more, it seems that most of the posts i make on this forum nowadays asking for help go un answered so forget it. im gonna just cancel the direct debit and go into the crapphonewarehouse and tell em to shove it.

Theres nothing you can do other than get a replacement or end the contract now by paying for all the remaining months..
