Virgin SH2 router upgrade advice needed

Hi I have my SH2 in modem only mode for better connection speeds/torrents, so no wireless, is the Asus RT-AC68U still a decent choice ?

I just need decent wireless around my house (2 levels) for 2 phones, printer, tablet rest are ethernet connected, also does it support DHCP ?

Also is the merlin firmware good to have and reliable or is tomato better ? I may wish to use more features like Openvpn in future, thanks.

AC68U is still a very good choice, it supports DHCP and anything else that you might need.
