Virgin SH3 and Asus RT66 setup

Ok, after the SH3 crashed for the second time and brought down the internal network because of no DHCP I've decided to actually get my Asus RT66 out of the cupboard and set it up. At least then I know my internal network will be reliable.

Can anyone confirm the setup for me is as below or put me right if not?

Put the SH3 in modem mode and wait for it to reboot
Patch the Asus WAN port to portnumber one on the SH3
Boot the Asus and run through quick setup

Do I need to change the IP of the Asus or anything?

I want to avoid lots of swearing in case I do it wrong! Cheers.

Yes, and by default your router should get 192.168.0.1 and your SH should still be accessible at 192.168.100.1

I have an Asus RT-AC66U, by default it's accessible from 192.168.1.1. It gave me a brief 2 min head-scratcher when I first set it up.
