Hi guy,

First post, first custom build, first time getting advice.

Yes i am a computer virgin, so be gentle.

This is my build and would appreciate any feed back good or bad.

The idea is to have a computer that will last a couple of years and that i can add to in the future.

Realy the build is for playing the new final fantacey 14 when it comes out but also to watch my blurays on and like i said to be ready to up grade when the time comes.

Also could some one advise me as to how long an over-clocked CPU lasts before it dies just as a guide as to how long i will have before buying a new one.

How long is a piece of string.
Processors should last 10 years, overclocking them shouldn't reduce their life expectancy by more than a year or 2, depending on just how many volts you are pumping and how stable the system is under that load. With good cooling and keeping low temps this life expectancy improves further.

With i7, frankly no one knows, it OCs so well, and no longterm studies have been possible thsu far. That system will butn through anything for 3 years and give no problems if OCed with stability and correctly.

Couple of things.

The Eco Green Drive is slow and i know its not your boot drive but wouldnt you want something faster ??

The overclock is being applied by OCuk themselves and im sure that with the H50 it will last years to come ..

if you decide to go crossfire in the future maybe a more powerful power supply ??

like a 750 model

Thanks for the advice guys.

Going to change the hard drive and go for 750w power supply.

I know its overkill but i think with a better system i might actually try other games and it would be nice to play every thin on high.

Thanks for quick response :-)
