Hi guys,

So....im with Virgin Media and have a home hub. I while back I was able to login to my router and setup MAC filtering, so it would show devices connected in the home. I could then assign which of those devices I added to a schedule which essentially turned the internet on/off at different times on different days of the week.

It wasn't the best solution since you could only add devises to one schedule. you couldn't have different devices having access at different times and days.

Virgin have now scrapped this feature anyway the moppets!
So my question is, is there another router I can plug into my main router/hub that I can then setup different accounts and passwords for each of my 4 children and restrict them in different ways? i.e Have my eldest going off at 1am latest and my youngest's at 9pm each day?

Obviously id change the password on my main my main router/hub and just have myself using that one

Any suggestions? thanks

Can you change the DNS settings your router hands out to devices via DHCP?

If so then, Install a local adguard home instance within your network, and then get the router yo hand out that address as the sole DNS server

You can then set up per device schedules, and block specific apps at a DNS level

get a unifi dream router, or a unifi express 7 put your virgin modem in modem mode and configure everything in unifi app or from a web browser. if you have the latest virgin router that dosent do modem mode (fibre service) then you need to do something different
