You can put the Super Hub into bridge mode and connect a better router to it. Then the Super Hub does the connection to the internet and the other router handles everything on the LAN side. If you get a good router (I recommend the Billion 7800N) the wireless should be better.

I hope that helps.

Easy, what you need to do is go to
192.168.100.1
in your internet browser. The default login I believe is written on the bottom of the superhub.
Click "Advanced Settings" underneath the 3 boxes.
On the left hand side, at the bottom is Modem Mode.
Click that, tick the box, and press apply.

After that, the superhub will no longer do any routing, only port 1 will work, this is the one you need to run a cable (any cable will do, does not need to be a crossover cable at all) between that and the WAN port on your new cable router. Everything then plugs into this.

The alternative is to buy a new wireless router connect it by wire to the computer (without any internet connection or superhub being connected), and disable DHCP on it. Assign it a different IP (I use 192.168.0.150) and then connect it to the superhub, disabling the wireless on the superhub. This is how I run it.

Also, check your version in the Super Hub Status. It should be Software Version V5.5.2R30 (The R30 is the latest one afaik!)

If not, update it by switching it off, and letting it reset and reboot. May take a while!

Corrected for you mate as 192.168.100.1 is what the ip address changes to once in modem mode

I use the Cisco Linksys WRT54GL with my superhub. Flashed it with the Tomato firmware, can also be flashed with dd-wrt to turn it into a really awesome piece of kit. Only down sides are that it doesn't have n band and only 10/100 switching but that is what a gigabit switch is for.

Thanks Guys.. what routers to you guys recommend? the billion 7800N looks good but is pricey, i do a lot of streaming from my Mac to my PS3

Well ever since the update, I've had to change it to 145mbs because 300 setting does not work anymore! What settings do you guys use? Do I need an N router? Or do you recommend the linksys one?

i put my superhub in to modem mode and bought a asus rtn56u dual band router ! it ha great reviews and i havent looked back since, its easy to set up and got dmz like you want !

I got a cheap dir615 for 9 quid and it's much more stable than the hub when used in conjunction with modem mode.

Any router from Linksys and NETGEAR - (If they've got Wireless N and Gigabit ports at most).
