BUT mine never connects outside the room it is in - Old WG614 V5 beats it hands down for range..
Smack him over the head with it.
Srsly. I got sick of the wifi functionality (or lack of) of this hub and decided to buy a few Belkin 200mbps homeplugs for about £20 each on the bay of e, best decision ever. Even noticeably less lag in gaming (wifi does cause marginal lag over cable).
****. If i cannot get a stable wireless signal on the other side of the house, ill just cancel it. 50mb is not good if you cant access it.
Is there such a thing "virgin" and "support" - don't go together!
The old "surfboard" only supports up to 20MB so its all that they offer!

I just phoned VM regarding changing back to my old modem which I still had from my 50MB days at my old property. I was promptly put through to tech support which told me to plug my old modem back into the system, give them the mac address and they would tyr to swap it over for me. Cue me unplugging superhub..... and... skype dies, doh.
Ok, so I suck up the phone charges as I now know it can be done and they're not funny about doing it, so use the mobile. I get through to this irate woman who first won't check my details by address and insists on my account number which I dig out for her. I then proceed to have to explain my situation 5 times, with her suggesting multiple times that I wasn't understanding the questions she was asking. She then proceeded to point blank refuse that there had ever been any other modem apart from the superhub.
Eventually I convinced her and she put me on hold, came back about 15 minutes later(!) and told me that it couldn't be done and gave me some useless metaphor for why it wasn't possible. Something about each address having a fingerprint and other modems wouldn't match my modems fingerprint, and fingerprints can't be changed. I assume it was a MAC related metaphor that a lazy tech had passed to her.
I might try again in a bit when I'm less ragey
