Hey All,

Having some issues with superhub 2 at the moment.
Ive been trying to download torrents and im downloading at incredibly slow speeds.
Im guessing i might have some settings wrong but its rather fustrating so any help is appreciated.
Also on my MAC i get 62mpbs dl & 3 upl
And on my laptop here i get 40 & 3 up
Not sure why, guessing the network card is old but weird
Heres some images!

You're downloading that torrent at 3.6MB (megabytes/s) what's wrong with that? If you're connection is 50Mbit (megabits/s) than the maximum download speed you'll get is 6.25MBits (Megabytes/s)

why are you using Utorrent to download Ubuntu when you can go to the Ubuntu site and get it from there ? ..and to wait a few minutes for something to download is so bad ? :)

I'm asking because I just D/loaded it from their site in about 90 seconds

Because it's a fast torrent and he's using it as a speed test to diagnose his torrent settings/connection. Did you read the thread?

OP, what's your actual connection as sold by VM? I'm guessing 50Mbps. Are you connecting wirelessly? It sounds like it. Try plugging in directly by cat5e or cat6 ethernet and see how you go. It's also work checking your port forwarding is working properly, as although you have UPnP enabled it could be port issues.

3.xMB/sec isn't exactly slow to be fair, but unless your area has congestion you should still see your full line speed on an Ubuntu torrent.

EDIT: If you're using UPnP then I also assume you're not using a VPN or proxy. VM throttle torrent traffic in peak hours, so that could also contribute. Enable encryption and use a non-standard torrent port and see if that helps. I use a VPN and SOCKS5 proxy and get 120Mbps all day every day. :)

Could be just me but that seems very normal if you're connected to the SH2 via wireless (I see similiar with my 60mb Virgin connection via 2.4ghz wireless). As suggested try a wired connection and see what you get with that.

I am connected by Wireless on the 2ghz band not the 5 because i can't get it

There's your issue then mate. :) THIS tool will show you which channels your closest neighbours are on. Most routers tend to default to channel 6 so overcrowding means erratic speeds for all users. Once you see what channel everyone is on, choose between 1, 6, or 11 (or 13 if you have it) to get yourself as far away as possible from the most users.

Does your wifi card not support 5GHz then? :(

Even if he goes on a less congested channel, I doubt that will work. The 5ghz band is much faster and I see full speeds with that, however you will need a wireless card that's compatible with it. Check your laptop to see if the wireless adapter is a mini PCIe card, if it is then you can replace it with a 5ghz compatible one. Another thing to mention, the 5ghz's range is much lower than the 2.4ghz... so if you have a device such as a smartphone that's compatible with 5ghz, I would check the signal strength there first to see if it's worth it.
