Virgin Tivo and Netflix?

Yep occasionally and its normal.

The tivo uses a separate internet connection which is quite low I think, and when you add the in the crappy internals of the tivo box......

I find it slow to enter netflix and browse but its fine when it streams something.

I mainly use my Amazon fire tv box which is speedy.

My TV app can't choose the user so as I am not the default user it goes to the wrong one, otherwise I'd use that.

If I have it plugged in VIA ethernet, should it be faster?

You mean the TV via ethernet?

I can't really say as i use wireless for everything where I can and have never had any problems.

I can't see it making any noticeable difference unless your wireless performance is poor in your house?

No I mean the Tivo box plugged in. You said Tivo uses it's own connection which is slow. So, if I have it plugged into my router directly, should Netflix be quicker?

Not sure thats possible. Im sure someone can confirm.

Personally I think its more down to the internals of the tivo box anyway.

I cast Netflix from my tablet to my chromecast, trying to use Youtube/Netflix/Most on demand things with Tivo takes an absolute age.

Having masses of problems with TiVo tight now.. it's recording stuff it shouldn't and skipping past things it should... In answer to your question, it's never played Netflix very well.. :(

I detest Virgin TV

Just buy a NowTV box or an Amazon Fire TV stick or a Chromecast or a Roku or any of the hundreds of millions of devices that run Netflix and forget about using it on TiVo.

I think you misunderstood, I was replying to the OP. Don't mess around with Netflix functionality bolted on to a device that isn't really powerful enough to do it, when an alternative is a very cheap option.

I use a Chromecast in my bedroom, to cast plex to as the plex app on my Hisense TV needs a plex pass to play things. But, the TV app for netflix works great.

My LG TV the app would be great if you could change user on it, so was just using the tivo instead but if I need a second chromecast, or firestick then I will do that :)
