im in colchester. not sure how near they are.
Great news. I'm quite a fan of the 4meg service I'm on, but 10meg would certainly be better.
Does anyone know what the upload for the 10meg service will be as it always seems quite slow on the 4meg as it stands.

I am also in Colchester - Did not have any probs last night!?
Also got my card this morn - just have to wait.
FFS they keep cutting me out again alst night from 11pm and onwards![]()
I've just had a call from Virgin Media, asking how I was with their service etc.
I won't go into the boring details, but she told me that I will be getting a free upgrade from 20mb to 50mb around the end of February or early March - I'm in Liverpool btw.
There won't be any free upgrades to 50Mb any time soon, it'll be a new tier introduced at a higher price. The rep he spoke to was either lieing or didn't know what she was talking about.Yeah and then they will upgrade shed loads to 50mbs and the urb's will be clogged again.![]()

That's just marketing so VM can take advantage of recent awareness of fibre optics, mainly thanks to the news of a plan to cable sewers with fibre a couple of months ago. Cable has always been fibre to the street box and that's how it will continue to work.On their site it looks like a new fibre optic line would have to replace you current cable. More holes in walls.
You may have to. It depends what modem you currently have. Will us 4mb people need to get a new modem to get 10mb?
