virgin traffic management question

anyone know if traffic management applies to uploads?

also does traffic management also apply at weekends?

The speed restriction is applied to your upload too once you go over your limit, that will trigger STM*

Yes weekends are included as peak time.

*the figure of 3gb for 10mb/20mb was touted by VM yet people are seeing STM triggered at times even when their usage hasn't been near this.

so uploading data does not contribute towards triggering the STM ?

According to the FAQ linked to above:

During peak times (4pm till midnight), users on the Size: XL package that download at least 3072MB (3GB) of traffic each (uploaded data is not included in this traffic total).

A: Our cable services are not capped and there are no intentions to introduce any usage limits - these are unlimited.

I'm getting throttled badly.... I'm on a 10mb connection and downloads are only going at roughly 100kb/s!!! Massively frustrating. Admittedly, I'm a pretty heavy user, but it's been this slow for the whole weekend pretty much! I'm hoping it gets better tomorrow. Otherwise they're going to get a very serious phone call from yours truly.
