Device manager shows HD graphics 4000 enabled, but when try installing virtu software get error message "No Intel HD sandybridge graphics Family Device found.

Whats going on? Am using 3570k with z77 ud3h... win 7 (64bit)... ta

Tbh, it's buggy as heck, not worth bothering with. Tried it myself and it caused numerous issues with games. Take bf3, you have to be on battlelog website to launch a game, virtu caused both firefox and ie to crash when launching the game.

i had that problem, updated hd4000 drivers, make sure igfx is enabled in bios, and i connected my display cable to the motherboard, virtu has worked good for me,but i am still benching (when i get time) at the moment

Also i think you have to download with the motherboard disc initially, after that you can update at will(it will tell you theres an update)

I had tried with all drivers/software upto date, (disc first mate, then dl as you say) display connected to gpu and selected in the virtu control panel. Still had nothing but trouble, gave up on it as tbh, im getting very good frame rates from the gpu already.

i only gave it a go because of the performance increase claimed and v sync, must say once i got my head round things it seems to be ok for me,like i say i think im gonna bench a few games when i get chance,i may disable it myself if frame rates get too low,by the way,my games seem to run smoother(battlefield 2 runs smooth with no freezes or stuttering)but i seem to loose a few fps, like i say im still testing things

The v-sync bit is what got me interested the most in trying it. Seen that it gives some great increases in benchmarks too. It's a fantastic idea in theory, but i couldnt get it running at all. But i look forward to seeing how you get on with it.

think it will be after xmas for me now,but i will try and get some thing together in the new year as i have some time of then,it does interest me

Does it do what it's advertised? shuts down the primary graphics card when on the desktop... also, does it have any issues with CrossFire? or is it only meant to run alongside single GPU setups?
