Just seen this appear on Steam for £17.99

http://store.steampowered.com/app/71390/

Seems a good price, so bought it.

Full online multiplayer too (Does use GFWL though).

I enjoy the Virtua Tennis series and seems this is the only Tennis love the PC gets nowadays :(

I loved Top Spin but no sign of that on the PC in the near future though.

Thanks for the heads up. I've always loved the Virtua Tennis series since the Dreamcast.

Downloading now, but Steam has got to be the worst 'paid for' download service in history. It's so annoying that I could have downloaded the game in 8 minutes illegally. Steam is telling me to wait 1 hour 23 minutes.

To be fair to them, I think the TF2 Free to play announcement is killing their service - lol

A few releases today as well, including Fear 3 which is a Steamworks title too.

Oh yes, you're right. Just saw that :p

But in my opinion, Steam is a profitable download service, they should invest in more bandwidth. It's not hard to forecast bandwidth usage.

You could try changing your download region but with tf2 going f2p they are probably all getting hammered.

Think I'll steer clear of VT 4 then looks like more the same. :(

Seems to be more of the same, which isnt a bad thing.

Especially as this is the first one on the PC with online multiplayer.

£18 is probably a fair price.

That reviewer is talking codswallop anyway.

VT games have allways been a polar opposite in comparison of Top Spin which is more sim like (only just).

Has a VT fan, I dont get what that reviewer expected but it wasnt a VT game.

Yeah Virtua Tennis was and always will be an Arcade game. Simple and easy to pick up, but still has some depth mechanics to it.

Besides, I can never get bored of the mini-games, even if most of them are rehashed.

I also prefer to play sports games in an Arcadey format. Simulation style fell out for me long ago since they tend to be a chore.

Is it better than Virtua Tennis 2009?

Put me off the VT games that one.

Easily since VT4 is by the original Japanese developers.

VT2009 was more of Sumo Digital's take to modify/refine VT3.

Reviews of VT2009 seem to have been pretty good and its only £9.99 on Steam, shame Top Spin 4 isn't available on PC as it looks really good.

I would quite like it if the slice/spin shot actually did anything other than be a slow return :o I remember and old game on the PS2 I had where the slice actually span.

Em, how on earth does the World Tour work. There's just a massive map with loads of stuff but I cant select anything??

Have just played for 2 hours and completed a season.

It is played like a board game, you get move cards, and choose how many places to move to dictate which item you land on.

On the 360 pad, Y allows you to navigate the map. I like it as it means each season will be different and I do mini games which are normally outside my comfort zone.

I have to say, first impressions, it seems like a polished version of the previous games and more like a throwback to the original arcade game.

Good fun.

Bought this yesterday for £17.99 & its a solid sports game. Simple to play up to 4 player co-op on the same PC according to the config menu at the start. Gfx are acceptable & plenty to do.

Well worth it if you like Tennis or Co-Op family sports games on PC !!
