Virtual 0800/0845 numbers & redirecting etc

Hi all,

I currently have a business land line that redirects to my mobile if I'm out, which is expensive. I gather you can buy a number i.e. 0845, 0800 and others and just get it redirected to normal number and can control it via a web control panel. It seems a lot cheaper as its only £2-5 a month plus 1-3p per min for redirected calls.

Has anyone used such a service or have a recommendation?

These people looked okay - www.voipfone.co.uk (but not using VOIP, just their redirect service).

A bit of a pain getting new things printed but the saving is worth it, if its as simple to set up as it seems.

remember that a lot of people quite strongly dislike calling 0870 & 0845 numbers, myself included.

I had another look today and it seems you can transfer your existing local number, which is very handy.

Anyone here use these companies?

only because they cost money. If you give a free one or something that's 1p per min

we use www.ttnc.co.uk for virtual local numbers it's 12p iirc for redirect to mobiles but then it doesn't cost if the phone isn't ringing so no monthly charges etc.

voipfone seem like a decent company, have spoke with one their guys many times on ukbusiness forums and he's always there to offer some great advice. not looked at their packages just saying that the service was very good given i'm not a paying customer

I use AQL, can have a look at them.

No complaints at all - I use 0203 numbers forwarded to international though but they offer 08 numbers as well

Have a look at 0300 numbers - they're free from mobiles and landlines and will cost you about 10-15p/min
