Hi chaps,

Longtime member that’s not been around much due to work and other commitments, and has resorted to Macs as computer was mostly used for work and browsing/emailing.

I’d like to get back to playing some PC games with my old buddies, but I don’t want to have to buy/build and maintain a PC again, nor do I really want to install Windows on my Macs.

Can anyone recommend some online service where you can get a virtual PC where they do all the updates and maintenance that I can ‘install’ Steam on and just play games, like Command and Conquer etc?

My friend recommended be something called Shadow, but it looks like its still pre-order for a month or two yet. There must be something out there that does this, and i just can’t find it surely?

Regards Craig.

Google Stadia is the obvious answer, not exactly a rented VDI but they host game instances. Won't find all games on there though

There are others such as paperspace etc. that are hosted PCs that you can then install software like rainway or parsec and stream that way. Check the parsec website for more details.
