Hey

So I've had few goes of a oculus and I want one..

But,from looking into it, the wife would go mad me having wiresall over the front room.

So my mate said what about a virtual reality head set....I've looked at many reviews and it seems this is my best option even tho the quality isntas good?

So, what should I get? Or are they all pretty much the same ?

Not sure what you are asking. Thee oculus Rift is a Virtual reality headset, so is the Vive. What model did you look at reviews of?

Sorry. Had a few beers after work. It's the windows mixed reality headsets

Think I'm getting a bit giddy and wanting to spend money while drunk haha

:D:D Good man :)

I have never tried a WMR headset. They seem to be ok, won't be as good as an experience as the Rift/Vive.

The
you can get on of the WMRs used from CEX for under 200, the Dell one looks OK.

Yeah my mate showed me the same ones, but when I hace a budget of £250 and they are very cheap I would like the best I can. He said the Lenovo is good but I'm still on the fence looking at a few reviews than say it squashes your nose a little

Yeah that's the thing... But when I want to use it in full I need to move my beast of a pc downstairs and set it up. From what I've seen is pretty much play and play? So the only problem is moving the beast and slight lag/less quality??

It still has wires, you still have to connect it to the PC. I don't think I would buy one after reading reviews, unless the Samsung Odyssey.

How big is your sitting room? If you get the Rift you know you can plug in the sensors when you need them and plug them out and put them by when not using. Even if you leave them in a set position, you could do some cable management and you could make it look very neat and tidy. Unless you go for a wireless solution there is going to be a cable going from your headset to the computer.

Or you could get the Vive or Vive Pro(If you got the dosh), you would only need a socket near where you want to plug in the lighthouses, you would only have the cables from the headset to the computer. Unless, of course, you go wireless again (more dosh!!)

For gaming it's probably bets to stick with the Rift or Vive since they are the most developed. You can't really go wrong with a Rift at £350 (though they do seem to have gone up a bit recently).

They are still all some way from having an image quality comparable to monitors. Though the immersion is amazing so it makes up for it.

I am just saying that if you like the Oculus, I think you are going to be disappointed with a windows headset. I think you should try one out if possible first.

The nearest equivalent to the Rift would be the Vive and the Vive has less wires but is more expensive.

Depends on your budget too I guess.
