I've got some files on a VM in virtualbox that I want to get out but I can't get the file sharing feature to work. The VM is running XP Pro SP3 and it's VirtualBox v1.6.2 running under Vista x64. I've installed the guest additions to the VM and browsing the network I can see 'VirtualBox shared folders', but it just shows up empty whatever I try to share in virtualbox. If I try to connect to individual shares by mapping them as a network drive it just says it can't connext to the shares. I've also tried mounting my card reader in the VM but it seems to be read only, and I can't burn CDs because the VM only sees a CD-ROM drive, not a burner. How can I get my files out?
Edit: Doesn't matter, managed to get the VM and my vista install to see each other over the LAN. Passing mod feel free to detele.
