No idea what section to put this in but here goes lol.

Basically here's the scenario, a limited number of static IP's available for a bunch of VM's to use, does the host machine have to use one? I.E can I just set the adapter to a random address (the host doesn't need to communicate with the outside world) and the VM's will still work fine (they're all bridged, not NAT).

As long as you don't need internet access on any of the VMS this this will be fine.

If you need Internet Access, I'm sure the host must firstly be connected to the outside world.
