I've got a PowerEdge 2900 III here that's running SBS2011. The company that owns it is now basically defunct, but they do keep needing to extract data from it. The latest was running discovery searches against Exchange Sever.
To make my life easier I was considering converting it to a VM. I've done similar conversions in the past, but they were hardware to Hype-V.
For various reasons I'd like to mount it using VirtualBox on my main PC. Is there a straight forward conversion option available?
It's never going to run as a production machine. It'll only ever be fired up to extract data.
The actual server weighs the best part of 50kg and isn't something I like moving about very often. If I've got it as a VM I can avoid the heavy lifting and declutter my dining room.
