Virus, help ASAP!

Argh, been infected on my main PC (using my macbook at the moment to post this as i can't get on the internet on main pc)

It keeps coming up with "Application cannot be executed. The file (name of whatever i'm trying to start).exe is infected.

I can't run my anti virus scanner either because it comes up with that?!?!

Help ASAP please!

Unplug from internet : boot into safe mode - try run virus scanner.

OR download avg and adaware then try those in safe mode

I've booted in safe mode, but once it loads up whatever it does, the screen stays black?

"Input Not supported" i have two monitors?!?!
