Okay I think I have come to the conclusion that it was something I clicked on yesterday. My own fault of course but avg popped up saying it needed to restart with a timer on it and I willingly clicked okay as I use AVG. Anyway I switched on my computer today and I have no network connection, no ipconfig details and I cannot change the tcp/ip settings. I think it has blocked me the ability to fix from this level. Any ideas please guys?

Run in safe mode and run Malwarebytes and an anti-virus from a pen drive if it picks anything up remove them. If this doesn't work, have you installed any Windows Updates at all lately? These normally schedule restore points that you may be able to restore too. Not dealt with many viruses so its not really a strong point of mine.

Yeah went into safe mode with networking before I saw your reply, connection worked then so something is stopping it. Im running malwarebytes as we speak and its picked up a few. Lets hope it solves :D

Open msconfig and look at (& untick) any dodgy files opening on start up and make sure they are removed by the scan, if not then manually delete the files and folders.
