Hi chaps,

I'm a mac person so don't really know the answer to this but my wifes work computer has started popping up all sorts of IE windows with daft messages on so we need to get rid...

They already run NOD32 and its not picking anything up is there any other software we could run to resolve this sort of issue?

I seem to remember some anti-malware software from back in my windows days but god knows what it was called?

Any ideas?

As the gents said; MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. It's free, and it's awesome. Also scan with Hitman Pro (free) and SuperAntiSpyware. Don't forget to disable system restore first, to avoid any complications later (disabling it deletes any potentially infected restore points). Also run CCleaner before you start scanning.

Good luck.

Well, thanks chaps but none of the software we tried worked...

I decided to show it who's boss by formatting and reinstalling :D

yeah her boss will never know... I got windows 7 on a disk from the market for £10 :)

...

this is of course a joke, she works over the road in her dad's company, and they've got all legit w7 disks and licences ;)

Often with the trixy hobbists of current infections it is best to reinstall anyway, its faster than attempting removal if MWB doesn't totally sort it on the first pass.

Least that way you know its clear. Good choice.
Wondered over the work software more than the OS btw, I'd have no idea where or how to obatin copies of my work software without getting it from work.
Work over the road tends to cover that :)
