Virus ? maybe [Help]

Hey guys,

Having a little problem where my cd drives keeps opening and closing at random intervals (not particularly fast). But i have hardly used it and also its not even that old ( 1/ 2 years). Its some samsung lightscribe thing (IDE).
It 1st started happening when i was playing a game (counterstrike 1.6).
And it really **** me up :D.

The button doesnt seem to work on the front, to close it and open it, so i have to push it in. If i go to my computer i can still right click then go to "eject" that still works. But its so random, i dont understand it.
some times it would open and close every minute, then sometimes it would do once everyhour.

The only recent bit of software i have downloaded was bbc iplayer downloader (which is p2p).

So yeah, i dont really have a clue, THATS WHERE YOU COME IN!

Please help,

The things i have tried so far:

Spybot s&s
Cccleaner ( ran the registry fixer thing on it)
And currently doing a Virus scan with AVG (seems to take forever

Btw, my o/s is VISTA

Thanks for the help bud, But i dont understand how the front button can suddenly stop working when this happens, as i said, i have hardly used it so its not as if the button has got warn out, or the solder came loose :/

very strange, i think i shall do one of the those online scans now,

bump for help :D

right, its doing it at the most random of times, started doing it again now :/

But i cant see how it could be a hardware fault if nothing has even touched it or knocked it ect :/

I think i may just end up buying another dvd drive,

do these sata drives work on most, if not all sata motherboards ? I would love to get rid of this bloomin great ide cable :o.
