virus!! please help...

hi guys...

my NOD32 has detected this:

"File D:\System Volume Information\_restore{4FFC78DD-3A74-4224-B044-577413A10628}\RP69\A0037130.exe is infected with a variant of Win32/AdInstaller application. The file can be deleted. It is strongly recommended that you back up any crucial data before you proceed."

however, it doesnt let me access this folder (System Volume Information) and NOD wont delete it for me (option is greyed out) - how do i get rid of this cuz i just had to format cuz of what it was doing to my windows installation (mad stuff like not letting me get to task manager or cmd.exe and toying with my web connection)

bloody things :mad:

any advice?
 
Turn off system restore, which in turn deletes all your restore files. I have to ask though, if you reformatted how come you still have the virus on your system? You can't have wiped the hard disk properly...
 
Looks like this is the system restore point on the "D:" Partition.

So reloading the OS would make no difference.

But as above, turn off system restore should do the trick.
 
i have turned off system restore on all drives, restarted, and still have the same message relating to the same file when doing a virus scan :(

but like optimus said, this is the d drive so it has remained... i had to format due to all sorts of mad problem which may or may not be a spinoff of this problem...

any other ideas?
