just wondering whats the best one out at the moment to get ...i used to use nod32 but been using avg of late any advice thanks

Free - Avast Home Edition or Avira - get AVG off, its rubbish - causes more harm than good.

Paid - NOD32 or Kapersky, I'd got NOD32 personally.

Probably the most asked question in Windows. You'll find good recommendations if you search for previous threads. :)

It has been perfect for me. Caught anything thrown at it.

Maybe you're doing it wrong? ;)

I read a review on anti virus products recently (can't remember where unfortunately).

Detection rates were abismal for AVG. It detected well under 70% of viruses in the test while Kaspersky and NOD32 have detection rates of 98%+

If you find it can you post it, because all the detection rates I've come across score AVG above 90%.

Not doing it wrong at all.

I'm out at least twice a week fixing computers in the local area, and I'd say at least 20% of people have AVG, stick on Avast/Avira and it picks up viruses that AVG has missed.

However, I could be wrong just something that I have found from my experience.

this.

i see too many threads on here where people say "i've scanned with avg and i'm clean"

then scanning with anything else brings out the crap.
