virus scanner for vista 64bit

I have bean looking around the last few days, and it seams like a tiny number of company's actually do a 64 bit version of there virus scanners.

I don't want to go with Norton, Its on my laptop and it cost way to much and all it does is screw up my system.

can anybody make any suggestions, I believe McAfee does a 64bit version but i cant fined any reference to it on there site.

i use kaspersky on xp
i am just about to upgrade my computer and install vista 64 at the same time
and kaspersky is vista certfied

AVG Don’t do a 64Bit version that’s free, I find Avast slows the booting and start-up massively.

I would say Kaspersky.

Technically I think you will find they're not a patch on the detection rate of NOD32 - especially for wild viruses... ESET have one of the best heuristic engines around at the moment.

Within a Windows environment; unfortunately you seem to get what you pay for.. that's not to say AVG and other freeware AV are not any good, it's just they're inferior to 'some' paid alternatives.

Avast, it's brilliant and for the record I used to have Nod32, the new and old versions.

i think I'm going to go with NOD32, its about the right price range and i have heard nothing but good things form it.
