Hi i have Mcafe virus scanner on my PC and sometimes when i do a full scan the result says. Potentialy unwanted programs 2, Tracking cookies 2, Files infected by viruses on the odd occasion it says 1. I quarantine them after the scan and then it says they have been removed. It doesn't say what the unwanted programs are or viruses and tracking cookies came from it just removes them. I was wondering if this will damaged any hardware or make the PC slower at some point but my has been fine i was just wondering if it could harm it?.

Thanks.

You should be fine once they are removed.

Tracking cookies can come from any website and basically just track when you visit the site, they're not viruses.

I agree with Maximus. Run a few spyware programs for piece of mind - lavasoft adaware and spybot are the ones I use.

Malwarebytes is always good as well.

id say thats mroe of a last resort program.. lol
avast AV, comodo firewall, spybot search & destroy, spywareblaster, mbam.. i run all of these each one does a seperate job

comodo is just annoying to get set up for the first few days... reminded me of vista's uac.. lmao
