Virus Scanning Exclude Lists

Has anyone actually configured their virus scanning software properly according to MS?

It makes sense doing this on servers, but on workstations as well? Would you likely see a performance increase?

Well none of the computers here is setup like that and we've never had file locking or performance issues

most of the excluded files are used only for exchange server, so it wont help unless you have exchange running (ie a mail server)

This will not give your workstation a speed boost, as the files are not there to be scanned in the first place
