Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

Since I've upgraded my rig occasionally a message pops up in a box saying something like;

Your registry is damaged please visit this link to clean it up - and then it shows a dodgy website. This is blatantly spyware or a virus but norton cant find anything and neither can spybot.

Ive deleted all viruses/spyware so how do i get rid of it Really annoying as when it pops up it minimises CSS!

Thanks,

It could be something you have installed along-side another piece of software unknowingly. Have a check in control panel and see if you notice anything odd etc.

I use Ad-Aware SE, Spybot and Spyblaster!

Should i uninstall norton then? Antivir,spybot,adware etc should be better?

If all these fail, what would you suggest i do next?

Why would you want to uninstall Norton? Those spyware uttilities should remove your spyware no problem. Other than that, it could be some program that you have thats causing the problem by making you think you have it when you don't, to purchase their software.

the only programs ive dl are steam,vent,xfire,vlc. I dont know how this is on my system, originally loadsa viruses came on because my anti virus wasnt working so i did a system restore, now its better but i got this.

Its also i really cheesey message so it has 2 be spyware.

@ OP

Please post a hijackthis log file here and I'll take a look at it and let you know what to remove.
