Virus?

I was looking through the processes today and there are hundereds of ' svchost.exe ' is it a virus or essential to the pc? Thanks

It's normal to have more than 1 running. Not sure about hundreds though.

Around 7 should be fine

It's basically just a generic process running for DLLs or something like that

Svchost is basically a placeholder name for Windows services that don't have their own names, or something like that. Although virus' can hide under that name, it is normal to have a few running.
