virus?

My pc has not connected upto the internet on the first attempt for quite some time now. I reboot the pc and usually it will connect, sometimes only for short periods and other times for ages before disconnecting. The pc is running slower than usual.
I have scanned the pc with windows defender/adaware/spybot search and destroy and with norton 360, none of these have found anything!
Is there any other programs to scan with?

My pc is running windows home premium 32bit, internet explorer and norton 360.

Any help much appreciated.

Are you using wireless (if so how is it secured, WPA, PSK, none), a cable?
Do other pc's do this?

no its not wireless. only have the one pc.
