Visa Help?

My girlfriend's sister has just come over from australia when she arrived on the 10th of July she realised her visa wasnt valid until 12th of July so immigration stamped her visa with a stamp saying she couldnt work in england and told her she needed to go out the country and come back in again to get her visa restamped.

Now personnally i think this is ridiculous in the first place but is there any way she could visit the passport office or australian or british embassey and get it done there? Just seems like waste of money to go out and come back in again?

Going to the australian embassy is technically leaving the country, no?

I don't know how she'd get it stamped when she left however.

Agreed she needs to go to the embassy and talk to some people there, it should not be insurmountable.

wouldnt going to the airport and back again count? when people are refused entry to a country they seem to just hang in the airport like in "the terminal"

Since she arrived before her working permit was valid from she would have been given a visit visa that ozzies are given for up to 3 months i beleive. she will need to leave and come back in on her working permit to stay legal.

just send her on a ferry from dover to france would be the cheapest, pick up some booze on the way
