Visiting Central Asia

Some of those buildings.

Assuming the bloke has just married the chick in the cerise dress, then he's definitely punching above his weight. Well done that man.

Not sure which woman you are referring too but he has in fact married the woman covered in carpet stood to the left of him (his right) :).

Woah! Bloody hell I never noticed her, I thought it was some form of decoration or ceremonial doodah or something. I've just had another look and noticed the hand.:eek::eek:

Ashgabat, first time i've heard of it, but I want to go there so much now. It's stunning. Did it feel safe with it's proximity to Iran & Afghanistan?

Oh yeah nothing to worry about at all. I actually fly to Iran tomorrow, it's a very safe country. Most of the borders with Afghanistan are very well fortified. We went to Termez as well were we could actually see Afghanistan across the river, albeit though 2km of military area.

I feel your pain :( It would be like going to see the Eiffel tower but it's wrapped up.

To be honest it wasn't actually the main sight I was keen to see, was much more looking forward to the Gas Crater and just the general monuments in Ashgabat.
