Atm i have 2gb on vista 32 bit os, now how much memory would be seen in a 32 bit os out of 4gb as i really dont wanna go to vista 64 because ive just gotten everything the way i like it.

32bit OS can only use 4gig total. Which includes vid ram, soundcard mem etc. So your looking at less that 3gig since you have a 1gig videocard.
Just put x64 on and then get that setup just right. ;)

It varies based on various factors but normally around 3 to 3.5GB will be seen on 32Bit.

EDIT: modo77 beat me to it. He is correct, I didn’t look at your system spec to see you have 1GB of video memory.

3.25GB regardless of videoram on your card.

I went from GTS 320 to GT 512 and vista32 still sees and uses 3.25GB of 4GB. Still better than 2GB ram.

there's no reason to use 32bit vista unless you're using 16bit applications or you have something like an old tv card that doesnt have 64bit drivers

Just get x64and set it up, once you've set it up you can utilize your cpu and memory.

There's no problems with rivers.

Take the plunge now before you completely alter vista and you wont remember what you've customised.

depending on GFx card you see between 3-3.5GB

As has been said, a 32bit OS can only see 3-3.5GB of RAM, no matter how much you stuff in.

What do you mean you've got everything the way you like it? Every 32bit app and driver works in 64bit too. It would be rather pointless if they didn't.

There are still many issues in 64bit with some games and many hardware drivers - notably wireless NIC drivers and other addon hardware (bluetooth etc)

These are things that people like myself use daily and must be working so 64bit is not an option yet and 4GB on Vista32 is no problem at all.

Also, Vista system properties shows 3327MB, Applications see 3.25GB, "Winver" sees 3406MB so the value is always between 3.2 and 3.5GB.
