Which is better, I hear the 64bit version has issues. How much truth is there in that and what issues, if any does it have?

Thanks

I found a couple of driver issues but nothing major.

64 seems to work really well most of the time TBH.

P.S: Rackerz i've sent you an email.

im running 64bit since this weekend going from 32bit vista, currently installing things and i can report little to no specific 64bit problems, and in fact the install for my X-fi was much less painful than 32bit.

seems much more responsive and using my dual better, although i have added new drives and RAM in my upgrade so it could be attributed to that :) however i am impressed its been so painless.

The only problems I've had with x64 so far are issues concerning signed drivers - eg running atitraytools is a no-no :(

Apart from that tho, it's just the annoyance of having two Program Files folders - I'm a neat freak :D

A neat freak would install non OS function centered installs on other partition :)

I install all my apps and games on a seperate partition infact I think its on a different HDD, and in that partition I have a seperate folder for applications and games, my documents etc...

This means I dont need to reinstall most things after a fresh install and dont slow down the OS much, I mean I find it silly isntalling all apps on Windows installation partition, just seems crazy

lolz.. most apps are in my 'Apps' folder, on another drive ;)

But that doesn't mean that Windows x64 won't give me two ProgFiles folders by default.. you don't get a choice ;)

Installed 64bit last week and have been pleasantly surprised - no issues as yet and it seems very 'snappy'. The only difference compared to my 32bit install is the hd, and even then, the other hd was allegedly not that badly fragmented (although it has taken a helluva thrashing over the past couple of years).

Oh, and the OS can now use 4gig instead of 3.25gig RAM, but I doubt that has much of an impact. Bit more room for superfetch I suppose.

Activate the built it admin account and run as that. It can run unsigned drivers by default and won't prompt you with UAC prompts.
