Vista 63 bit retail

If i buy a retail copy of Vista Home premium how do i get the 64bit version ??

You specify which one you are buying when you are buying it. It says what version it is in the description.

Doesn't give me a choice of 32 or 64 when i go to the retail section instead of oem ?

No - you only get the 32bit media with Home Premium.
You will need to send away to Microsoft to get the 64bit media - cost is around £8 if I rememebr correctly.
Only Vista Ultimate Retail ships with both 32bit & 64bit media.

When you get the retail package there is details how to obtain 64bit media.
Like stoofa mentions it cost around £8~, mine took about 2 weeks to come through the post.

Only Ultimate comes with both media.

you can of course, download the 64-bit media and use your retail product key.
