Hi there, I think I have changed some rights by accident and cannot get them back, If I try to add full control I keep getting cannot write to root on c:drive see below fro the example.

Can anyone post a picture of their rights for the admin pls.

Oh and how do I get the duel boot menu for xp and vista, at the moment I only get vista loading and no option when I press F8 in the boot menu.

Thanks

The entry "Full Control" in the bottom pane (not visible), has no ticks either.

I simply installed Vista after XP Pro had been installed, and the Boot Menu appeared automatically.

However, I believe that with VistaBootPro there is a way to get it too appear, need to look in their forums. :)

Thanks mate but could you see what is checked on the admin account by highlighting it pls?

Thats just is you have the top 2 ticked it wont let me tick them, it keeps saying unable to write to c:/root.

I have tried safe mode that does not work either.

Help!

Try clicking on the Advanced button & then select the Owner tab. Click Edit & then select "Administrators (dazsly-PC\Administrators)" & put a tick in the "Replace owner on subcontainer and objects" box & press OK. Click OK to other dialog boxes & then see if it will now allow you to change the permissions.
