vista 64 and home networking

any1 know a guide or know how to set up a home network on vista 64?? i have a normal crossover cable/nic setup and can set it up easy on xp, but i cant seem to see the option for a hardwired network on vista's wizard, it all seems to be wireless or net connections and i cant really try vista out without it coz then my g/f loses her connection.


edit: her machine would still be on xp btw, not sure if that would matter or not
