Hi there,

I was wondering whether there is any issues with programs on Vista 64-bit or does it have inbuilt backwards compatibility?

There are 64-bit drivers for all of my hardware so that doesn't matter.

Cheeers.

I found it did have issues. It really depends on the programs you are using, and if developers have been bothered to make them compatible if they aren't by default. Check with the people who make your software before you commit to x64. My opinion of course.

Been using x64 for over a year now and had no real issues with software support. Anything which doesnt usually has an 80% of having a fix to make it work on 64 bit anyway (depending on the program of course).

And for the 16 bit issues you always have DOSBox.

Problem is, my software is always changing. I dont want to be in the situation where i cant use a certain software which i need to use.

I will be dual booting with XP 32bit and Vista 64 bit, I think this will be the best solution for me for the time being due to lack of drivers and some older games not being possible to install on 32 bit vista, let alone 64 bit. Benn playing with the betas for a while and found it will not install many games, giving odd errors. Well, we will see when the proper release it out there. come OC, send me my vista!
