Vista 64 defrag help

ok i started a defrag on my new system using vista 64, but ive noticed u cant see how much defrag is done or left to go, all it says it could take a few mins to a few hours and i started at 7 and still going, is there anyway i can few how long is left or how much % its done as this kinda sucks. :confused:

i don't think you can see such information with the windows builtin defrag tools, its rather basic. theres probably 3rd party apps that will show the progress, freeware and retail.

if its the first time running the defrag it'll probably take a while, subsequent runs should be faster.

I had the same problem mate. Running for hours and hours, I just gave up and installed Auslogics Disc Defrag which told me the exact progress and was done in 15 minutes.

Yes indeed the inbuilt defragger is a hateful pile of toss, go grab the fabled Jkdefrag.

Try using Defraggler, free download. Works well for me.
